GraduateMaster of Science in Nursing

Overview

In support of the University’s mission, The Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner program (MSN FNP) will prepare an advanced practice nurse equipped for service, leadership and to be agents of change in the healthcare arena. As servant leaders, students will be prepared to promote health and well-being and recognize social determinants of health among diverse populations across the lifespan. Graduates will develop skills and learning as competent, compassionate, and holistic nursing professionals who uphold Christian values in their service to individuals, families and communities.

The hybrid MSN FNP program will provide advanced nursing education through 8 week online theory courses, hands-on clinical practicums and two on-campus intensives. The hybrid program is designed to be full time and completed in 36 months with a total of 48 units and 750 clinical hours. The curriculum was developed to reflect professional nursing standards and guidelines. The curriculum, as a whole, provides graduates with the necessary essential current knowledge, skills and attitudes to practice as an advanced practice nurse in contemporary health care. A culminating capstone project is the final requirement of the advanced practice nurse in this program. The project should represent the consolidation, synthesis, and analysis of the academic or clinical scholarship in meeting program outcomes. At the completion of the Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner Program, the graduate will be eligible to take the national certification examination
